Cheese Straws

        if using vegetarian cheese

 

Ingredients

8oz Plain Flour
1 teaspoon mustard powder
6oz Parmesan cheese
2oz margarine or butter
2 egg yolks
1-2 tablespoons water
1 vegetarian stock cube
pepper to season

 

Method

Pre- heat the oven to 200c.
Put the flour, pepper, mustard & stock cube in a bowl, rub in the margarine.
Add grated cheese with egg yolks & water. Leave some cheese for topping.
Roll & cut into finger shapes.
Cover tray with baking parchment & arrange on tray. Brush with egg white & top with cheese.
Bake for ten minutes.
Cool on a wire rack.
