Healthy weight cooking sessions

Free fun cooking sessions: Especially aimed at those trying to manage their weight.

A healthy diet is all about having the right balance.  Learning how to adapt your daily favourite recipes is easy, it just takes a bit of practice but it will be worth it in the end.

It is easier to maintain health changes in the long term if you adapt your normal recipes. To make your meals into healthier alternatives, you can modify them simply by reducing the amount of fat, salt and sugar they contain and increasing the fibre content.

The main consideration is the overall balance of the meals, with the emphasis on long term health and weight loss/maintenance.

Please download our 'healthier cooking' booklet with tips on how to adapt your favourite recipes.

The group cooking sessions may not be appropriate for clients with additional needs as we cannot offer one to one support and are not trained in working with clients with severe learning disabilities or mental ill health. If you are interested in cooking support for clients with additional needs we can offer training for you to run a cookery group and may be able to run a specific group for you if you have a minimum of 6 clients in attendance. We would also need guidance and support at every session for each client from support workers. Please contact us on 01209 216967 if you would like to discuss this further
